SPACE, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions, a Yale Child Study Center Program developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz, is a parent-based treatment program for children and anxiety, OCD, and related problems. Dr. Elana Rimler, a trained SPACE provider and parenting expert, will be sharing strategies to help you parent your anxious children while avoiding common pitfalls. Attendees will learn: – Who is appropriate for SPACE treatment. – What is parental accommodation? – How parental accommodation sustains anxiety. – Identify how to rephrase demanding or protection statements into support statements. – How to decide when you need more help with your anxious child.
