Description

Long Island School for the Gifted Community Joins Together for Rise Against Hunger Service Project Syosset, NY — May 12, 2026 —

The entire community of the Long Island School for the Gifted will unite on Tuesday, May 12, for a schoolwide service-learning initiative in partnership with Rise Against Hunger, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger worldwide.

The project was inspired by Jacob, a seventh-grade student who proposed bringing the meaningful experience to the entire school community. His idea quickly gained momentum, and students in grades 1–8, along with parents, faculty, and staff, will work side by side to package nutritious meals for communities in need.

Families and community members interested in helping should email: Info@lisg.org .
